Surprise I found this morning.....

This morning I discovered this hat deep into my property, in the driveway very close to the house. I have no trespassing signs posted. I decided to set it out for the intruder to retrieve at the front of the property with a subtle message......

Mebbe a large dog staked next to the hat with a "Found" sign?

Being a Redwings hat, is it possible somebody just threw it out? :rotflmao:

Thanks and yes I agree, I'm practicing now mostly with my .45. I've also added a nice 12 gauge to my collection which I am thoroughly enjoying.

You missed the hat, try again.

This is cute, however, in some locales (I have no idea where you live) could be construed as a threat should the guy end up dead....much like those signs some folks put on their doors that warn trespassers that they will be shot, etc....could come back to bite you in court...

You've also informed everyone who sees the thing that you have guns in the house...could be a deterrent, could be an invitation....

You are right on all points, I did take the target away after considering these things. I live in a rural area of Northern Washington state, in the foothills of the mountains, and guns in the house is quite common around here. I agree a low profile is better.

Cool, now "he" knows that you got guns so it might be worth going in to steal them when there is no one home...
If this post is non welcomed, I can always give you a recipe for making "tostones".

The target I put out was only out for about 8 hrs., I think few, if anyone, even saw it. I came to my senses about discretion fairly quick. My guns (the ones I don't carry) are well stashed and secured. As it turns out the owner of the hat is a 15 yr. old local kid who drunkenly bumbled through my yard that night, he even apologized. I won't be making any overt statements like this in the future.

As I before stated, where I live is a rural area where guns are pretty much considered normal and sensible. My "display", admittedly not wise, probably wasn't even noticed.

Although I agree about not advertising your guns I also believe a statement in the right way might act as a deterrent. I'm going to have to ruminate on this a little more. Maybe just the hat pinned to a tree with a knife? Left near where he lost it. I think it's called targeted communications.
