  The one who really blows my mind is Janice Dickinson. She didn't just fall off the wagon, she jumped off it head-first. I mean she REALLY went out of her way to age herself with all of that partying.

  Maybe its me, but some of those are 30-50 year differances, and they are ok. OTOH, some of the 10 year changes are downright scary.
  
  Just sayin, getting old aint for the weak. Wait till the folks who wrote those comments put another 30 in. Yes Kelly LeBrock isnt a hot 19 year old ( :drool: ), but as a 50 year old she aint hard to look at.
  
  Joan Rivers?? It says Johnny Carson MENTORED her. I would guess that the 80% of the people who developed this slideshow were not in big people pants when he last did the Tonight show. She didnt do herself any favors, but you gotta figure for wear and tear.

  A lot of those photos are close ups of people in their late 60's and 70's.....if you still look good then, you made a deal with the Devil.... like Raquel did..

  Some of it's being able to afford the right surgeon or even having the sense to know WHEN to stop. Another huge part that none of us have control over is genetics. Some look great as they have the good genes AND they take care of themselves. Helen Mirren is a prime example. Raquel Welch obviously has good genes and she's been known to hit the yoga routine hard to take care of herself. Ann Margaret and Sophia Loren are another pair of hot foxes.
  
  If father time is catching up...well heck, some of them were bombshells when my idea of a good time was watching bugs bunny and gnawing on my fudgsicle! I think we can cut them some slack.
  
  Some of them just need a good shower, a barber, and to hit the gym after putting down the fried chicken.

  Then and now shows quite a difference. Some have aged gracefully, some not so much. The ones that bother me the most are the women who went overboard with collagen injections in their lips, such as Goldie Hawn. Also, most of the 'then' pictures were studio shots with professional make up artists making them look their best, while many of the 'now' pics are candid and show them at their worst.
  
  If it makes you feel any better, drag out a copy of your high school annual when you were a senior, and compare it to what you look like now. It's pretty grim for me.

  The kids were busting my chops on that, so we broke out the yearbook. There is some wear, a little distinguished silver in the red, and a few lbs, but you can tell it is me.

  Varmint, I tend to agree with you -- in some cases you're looking at a 40-50 year difference in the before-after pics, and you tell me who doesn't age in that time -- to NOT do so is the weird thing. Goldie is just fine, still a pretty woman. She's simply let herself age naturally. After all, she's a gramma. But she and Kurt seem to have had a great life together, raised some okay kids. I don't know about the collagen thing, one way or another with her.

  I've got a 50-year high school reunion coming up sometime this year- - - -IF enough of the 39-member Class of 63 is still around to meet in something bigger than a phone booth! The most recent one, a "decade of the 60's" reunion about 3 years ago featured a bunch of ancient looking gals- - - -and guys, and all of us really needed those name tags with the yearbook pics on them!

  I also graduated in 1963 and we have our 50th scheduled for September of this year. We graduated in June of "63", but organizers have decided to get together in the fall of this year. When I attended our 40th in 2003, I was amazed at how many of my classmates were still "recognizable"!

  There's no such thing as having too much ammo, unless you're on fire or trying to swim!

  Seeing people age naturally really doesn't throw me for a loop. I's the one's who have outright destroyed themselves through voluntary hard living that blow me away. Lindsay Lohan is a perfect example. Between her eating disorder, drug use and cosmetic surgery, she's managed to about about 10 years to her appearance. It's nutty to look at a girl in her mid-20's who genuinely looks like she's aged into her mid-30's. I find it highly ironic when people try to cover up their age with cosmetic procedures that do nothing more than make them look like they're doing exactly that: covering up their age.

  Gal I was dating for the past few years is in her early 60s, still very trim and pretty, although she clearly isn't a kid any more. But she's still a nice looking woman.
  
  We split up last spring, mutual agreement mostly, and since then I've been in a committed relationship with a long-time galfriend -- we've known each other over 30 years. Going steady since summer and she moved in this past September. She's in her late 50s and I suppose she looks her age, but gosh, she's still a lovely woman and I light up whenever I see her each morning. I suppose that's what matters.
  
  As far as stars and celebs go, some of the men & women take better care of themselves and keep in good shape, and show their age rather gracefully. Some actor who was a total hunk or some actress who was a real babe 30 years ago and has now aged, who gives a damn? A good actor can find work regardless. You see guys like Bruce Willis or Tom Cruise or Harrison Ford, and they've kept themselves in pretty good shape. Helen Mirren is an older gal but she still looks okay. But that's not the job of the older actor to look young -- it's their job to act skillfully within the boundaries of their age.
  
  Older actors have always been accepted, and now the actresses are getting the same equitable treatment. Fair is fair. It's the ones who try to deny their age that look silly.
