I was tailgated one time and didn't mind it, it was a county cop. I was on a stretch of 2 lane, between Atwood and McLemoresville, Tn., coming home from a deer hunt. This county mountie eases up on my bumper, so I start slowing down, so he can pass. I look in the mirror and I see him shake his head and wave me on. I realized what he was doing, gave him a thumbs up and picked up speed. I was da camouflage. He was hid behind my truck, everything but his radar gun, in the driver's side rear window. We went about 2 miles before some dufus, coming the other direction, went by us at just under the speed of sound. Blue lights came on and cop pulled a u-turn and was gone.

That was too funny. Was it one of those lowered imports that kids like to race around in?

No. Just a stock Civic a few years old. Best I could tell, he got a little air time. I would hate to be the shop that had to fix that thing. Pieces of meat, hide, and guts had to have been well spread out underneath.

That particular hill is a hot crossing point for deer, and there's a LOT of work traffic in the early morning and late evening on that road. Lot of deer get hit there.

If I see that I can clear something in the road, I won't swerve around it. Anybody following too closely is on their own, unless it's a soccer mom with a van full of rug rats. That's the only time I'll swerve around an obstruction to give them a heads up.
