I went when it was in Minneapolis, seemed like everyone was there with a booth, got to meet Dick Cassull.

I went when it was in Pittsburgh years ago. I got to meet Jeff Cooper, bought his book. I also gotta meet Anthony Imperto of Henry Repeating Arms, who I chatted with previously on another board.

    I. Remember seeing booths for vendors that I never know existed.

It was a good experience that I hope to repeat one day.

Yes, I went to the "big show" when it was in Houston in 2005 but was unable to attend this year.

I'd highly recommend attending the exhibit hall, admission free to NRA members. Not just every gun manufacturer but all sorts of gun-related gear on display, aftermarket stuff like scopes or laser sights, hunting or shooting supplies (reloading) and just about anything you can imagine.

In 2005 I met R. Lee Ermey and other paid reps for various guns and stuff.

Best of all, you're surrounded by thousands of 2A people!

As a gun mag editor and writer I've attended many NRA Annual Meetings, probably at least half of them over the last 25 years. Always get a lot out of attending, both from the business side but also as a gun guy. It's always that "kid in a candy store" feeling everytime I go.
I highly recommend going the next time one is near you. In 2013 it will be in Indianapolis (Apr. 25-27), 2015 in Nashville, but I don't recall the date. It's almost always in mid April. No country music fan would want to miss the one in Nashville!

I've made two Shot Shows, but never the NRA Annual Meeting. I wanted to go this year as I got an official invitation to come help, but I had two important dates coming up and didn't know when for sure they were going to take place. As it turned out, I could have made the NRA Dig. I wish I would have.

To Conchokid; THANK YOU very much. I appreciate your insight and also thank you to all.

Went to the NRA Convention in Houston last month. Wow! The exhibit area was great and yes most of the big manufacturers (Glock, Sig, Springfield, Para, Remington, Les Baer, Daniel Defense, Colt, ....) were there along with some new players looking for exposure. Also lots of gear and accessory makers (knives, VZ grips, Dillon Reloading, camping and hunting gear....). Aside from all the guns to see there were some of the top shooters there. Rob Leatham (TGO), Max Michel, Todd Jarrett. Got to watch an exhibition by Jarrett on drawing and reloading. Amazing! If you blinked you missed it!

If you get a chance to go in the future I would highly recommend it.

Hi GLI45; I couldn't help but notice all the pistols listed on your post. Which one is your favorite for daily ccw carry??

STI Guardian in 9mm probably 80% of the time, but I'll rotate in the Ranger in .45. Both fit in the same Crossbreed Super Tuck Deluxe IWB holster.

Went this year as part of the 86,000. I was impressed by Colt, S&W, Springfield Armory Custom Shop, and Kimber. Glock did not have a G38 on hand. Good displays by Ruger and Winchester. Hipoint carbines look like fun. Tom Gresham did his radio show from the Liberty Safe booth on Sunday. Everyone was there. Got to handle stuff that is never in the gun shops. Enough to spend two days. Sunday was less crowded but still huge crowds.

I went to one when it was in Southern CA. when I lived there. Since I moved I attended the meeting in Louisville, KY several years ago and plan on attending the 2014 meeting in Indianapolis, IN. as that will be only 45 min. away. Looking forward to that one.

WOW! I just talked to my buddy Pat, the guy that hunts whitetail with his .375 H&H. Pat was raised in a union family. He even belonged to the union awhile when he worked at Alcoa. He was always pointing out the contributions of all the famous more recent liberal presidents such as Jimmy Carter and Slick Willie.

Well it seems Pat went to the NRA convention this year in Houston. Now he's expounding on the contributions of such people as Reagan and the Bush's and he is thoroughly in love with Glenn Beck and Ted Nugent, and even Rick Perry! He's a changed man!!!
