Gov’t Ready to Spend $1.9B to Buy Back Land for Indian Tribes

I thought our Government was supposed to be cutting spending under Sequestration? Yet they continue to find ways to keep spending money we do not have and the U.S. National Debt Clock keeps right on ticking. Interesting that Sequester to spending ratio is only 2.386%. Now that is really pathetic, as it will take more than a century to accomplish a real reduction in Debt.

    The Ovomit administration is going to make sure that wealth redistribution will go to all the wronged people of this planet, going back 50 generations. Maybe selling Manhattan back to the Indians for 24 dollars wouldn't be such a bad idea. They could make a gigantic casino out of it.

    You mean buying back tax paying land to give it to a tax exempt group isn't brilliant? I'm starting to wonder how the Bank of China hasn't died laughing yet.

    Sequestration cuts weren't really spending cuts.. they were reductions of automatic increases..
    completely, totally, wholly and entirely, full dress bullshyt.

    and the only amounted to like .8% of the budget..

    Sequestration? Just the usual "smoke and mirrors". For example: Grounding the military exhibition teams. Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, and Golden Knights. I have some experience with military aviation (30 years) and know that these personnel, Aircrew, Maintenance, and Transportation are still being paid. The aircraft are still flying. They are still being maintained. The aircrew of the demonstration and transportation aircraft have to complete their minimum training and flight hours. The entire cost is included in the already approved Department of Defense budget. As usual the government "cuts" things that are high visibility and media worthy to convince us that they really, really, really need more money! It is even worse at the state, county, and municipal levels. We had a recent levy vote in my little city. They used the usual "we are being forced" to severely cut fire, police, library, infrastructure maintenance, parks, etc. I may have had a bit of sympathy if they had not spent $2.5 million 2 years ago to build a civic center appropriate for a city of 70,000. My little city has a population of 9,000! My ballot only had a choice of yes or no. I wish it had a selection of HELL NO! The levy passed. It has been said that you can't fool all of the people all of the time. I guess you can fool most of the people all of the time!

    Getting old sucks! I forgot my main reason for posting concerning sequestration. I earlier watched the flyover of the NASCAR Nationwide race at road AMERICA being performed by YAK training aircraft! They are soviet designed! What a "slap in the face" for the "cold war vets". We need new national leadership now!

    Don't give any Injins any alcohol or very little at a time......don't care what they say about stereotyping them , it hits them harder than most folks and they get crazy real quick. I've seen it in OK where two beers gets them crazy like we had 6 or 8 +++ and they start busting Bud bottles off the wall while shootin pool in bars...........

    That's because it was done by a group of private citizens. Oh, the jets were made by Aero. A Czech manufacturer. The private citizens use them because American jets are too expensive.

    Oddly enough, they team is "Discovery Bay's Patriots Jet Demonstration Team." I do have a hard time seeing the patriotism in flying a commie jet.

    Hmmmmmm- - - - - - -my farm is right in the middle of the Cherokees' homeland, and my great grandmother was at least part Cherokee. I already own the property, free and clear. I wonder if I can declare my place a "reservation", quit paying property taxes, and establish my own hunting seasons, maybe even open a casino? Of course, the goobermint might try to make me walk to Oklahoma!

    We talk in jest about these things because, I think, we know that there's nothing we can do about it. But I tell you....I'm becoming more and more concerned about where we're headed, and I know the rest of you are too. For God's sake this can't keep going on and on. Something has to happen, and it isn't going to be fun. It is now time to clean house in my opinion.

    The aircraft performing the flyover were YAK-52 propeller driven trainers. They are a Soviet design. The Aero L-59 jet is designed and built by the Czechs. The general population of the Czech Republic are the most anti communist people I have ever met. They attempted to restore basic human rights in 1968 and were crushed by the Soviet juggernaught.
