Bachelor herd sighting...
Coming home earlier today, right by my driveway was four whitetail bucks in velvet. One was an absolute beast. He was 5X5, the rack was about 18" tall, and about 20" wide.
When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

Edit: yes, near our driveway too.
A further edit, the OP said 5x5, what we would call a 10 point. I think by now we, most of us at least, know the difference in Western and Eastern point count. If the OP's buck had brow tines we would call it a 12 point buck. At least our Western brothers didn't used to count brow tines as points. Don't know how they do it these days.
We do not say "brow tines"; we say "eye guards" :tooth:
If the eye guards are substantial, we will count them.

Cool with plenty of growing yet to do.
hopefully it won't be a ginger
What is a ginger in regards to deer? Right now they've all got their Summer coats with the reddish hue. Often you'll see a large red doe in Fall/Winter that folks will call barren based on size and color.
I already know about gingers and chickens.
Sad but true...
