Rain or not the leaves will fall in the fall and make work.

The leaves here are starting to turn. I can see the aspen groves halfway up Pike's Peak starting to change. It's supposed to drop to 37F here tonight. I suspect next weekend will be a big one for the leaf-peepers along Hwy 24.

Nothing really changing here yet. Been enough rain to keep them green and hasn't turned cold enough to make them change. It should happen before long though.

Here, along the Front Range of the Rockies, temps don't really seem to have as much to do with it as the angle of the light. As soon as the sun has noticeably shifted to the south, the leaves start turning, regardless of temps. Of course, cooler temps help it along, but it's mostly the light. You can go through a steep canyon and have aspens on one side of the road still green, and on the other side....not a leaf left on the tree. The only difference is the lighting.

If no rain, the leaves still drop but turn brown instead of orange/red/yeller

Yes he did, black socks with sandals and all that. He's now in a position to put some frickin' laser beams on sharks.

And it's all the weather girls talk about on the news channels since it's Fall and all they can do is throw their hands up and say "your guess is as good as mine" about the weather. Maybe they should do like some russian weather girls and start taking their clothes off on the air........I wouldn't mind.

It cracks me up that people will take a day to drive through the mountains to "ooohh/ahhhhh" the change in the aspens. They go from green to yellow, big whup!

Fall colors are gonna be late in this area.

Should start seeing some color last week of Oct or early Nov.

Ya gotta have a good hard frost to make the leaves do the color thing. Sayin.

Leaves are beginning to fall here while still green. They do that every year, though. Probably no frost until late October, and then the woods will be all crunchy with fallen leaves for the muzzleloader season. I hope it's heavy overcast this muzzleloading season; the moon will be darn near full the whole time.

Tricky hunting with a full moon when everything seems to go nocturnal. Tricky when it drizzles enough to soften the leaves underfoot......best best is to find the bedding areas.

Best colors I've seen was in the Blue Ridge Mountains......
