Here's the link for a fairly neutral, "just the facts" account of a protest held today (Oct 19) for open carry and other extended gun rights in Texas. The protest was held at Travis park, just across from the Alamo.

The protesters were concerned about 2 things, mostly, the right to open carry handguns (not allowed in Tx), and extending the carry rights to certain other locales, such as bars or taverns (also not allowed in Tx for concealed carry, permit or not). Protesters were also concerned with what they feel is undue harassment of 2A rights in San Antonio (a somewhat liberal -- liberal for Texas -- city).

The protest was peaceful and there were appaently no incidents of any notable concern.

So even in Texas, we get pro-2A rallies.
