The Blacklist

Recently in this show a fugitive with hostages was confronted by a person carrying concealed. The civilian was shot, a hostage was wounded, and, of course, the fugitive was unscathed as were the people who stood and did nothing. This is Hollywood's version of self defense. Sheep beget sheep.

Yup. Same with the off duty armed cop (Point Break).
To a slightly lesser extent, the carjacked lady in Reservoir Dogs. Tarantino portrays that situation as one where she would've been okay if she'd have just given them the car, my interpretation is that she should've (1) Kept on driving or (2) If she absolutely HAD to stop, she should've been carrying something other than a J-Frame and she should've fired more than one round. :tooth:
Hollywood is on a mission...and it isn't entertainment.
When the gun guy shoots BG, BG shoots and kills store clerk, then shoots and kills gun guy before dying from gun guys shots.
Sure would have made "Taxi Driver" one heck of a confusingly short film had they used the same outcome there.
Now it seems that a recurring crutch this days in order is to make the bad guys "badder" is by making both the victims and more so law enforcing entities quite weak, the way the FBI is portrayed in "The Following" is the best example of this to the point of being ridiculous!

Bottom line, the shop worn arguments of the gun control clack are not valid in any sense, I will carry and do the best I can, and if I get killed defending Myself, I pray I can take out a few of the attacking hordes of goblins and zombies before I expire.
