    Alcohol and Firearms....a deadly combination, as he proved.

    What a crescendo to a life of gun safety classes. He sure showed them.

    There was no "accident" involved in this morons death....it was a combination of pure negligence and terminal stupidity...

    Sad thing is this was somebody's son, friend, brother etc..
    Alcohol makes people do some stupid stuff, seen it too many times and it hits too close to home.

    At least he practiced one rule of gun safety, he only pointed the gun at something he was willing to destroy, himself, at least no one else was hurt.

    Sorry, but I gotta ask...........................Was it a Glock? :devil: :jester::jester:

    Yes, yes, I know not even a Zip Gun should be pointed at yer noggin. What he did was beyond irresponsible and his unsafe handling of a gun cost him his life.

    And he was such a good shot too, I mean to hit something as small as his brain.....!
    :silly::tooth:

    This was multiple failure of his safety training. First, using alcohol while handling firearms, Second, Pointing a firearm at something you do not intend to shoot, and third, failure of that cardinal rule of "Never pointing a gun at anything you do not intend to shoot!" But the alcohol caused his thought process to become clouded, so it can definitely be considered as the "Root Cause!"

    We make choices everyday. Some very minor, some just seem minor but can be very major in the scheme of things. Anytime you pick up, handle and/or operate a firearm you should think about this. Think about what you're doing and the implications of your actions. We should also remember that familiarity breeds contempt. When we handle firearms on a regular basis we can become contemptuous and forget their potential lethality. "Nuff Said!"

    I guess removing people like this from the gene Pool will eventually cure this problem, but it's too bad education won't work here. Why won't it work here? Because Supidity Knows No Bounds!

    Seriously, despite all the safety rules, the sobriety, the common sense, blah, blah, blah, I would really, really, really love to know what brand and model firearm was involved in all of these kinds of incidents. Reporters ain't what they used to be.

    What difference would the type of firearm make ? I have seen NDs with 1911s and NDs with S&W revolvers with very heavy lawyer triggers, at the time S&W started making 16 pound triggers out of fear of law suits.

    I hate that everyone is saying this was a 'Demonstration of gun safety!" They should call it what it really is......... "Hold my beer and watch this."

    It makes not a LICK of difference. It could have been a revolver with a thumb safety, a grip safety, and a 23 pound trigger pull. The fact is that this idiot pointed a loaded gun at his melon and pulled the trigger.
    Stupidity is painful. In this case, deadly.

    I soooooo agreee !!!!! If he had pointed the gun in a safe direction, Everyone would agree he was a ****, No one would have been killed, and a live **** is better than a dead ****.....
