Aoudad Hunt.

Hunter_1 surprised his father (also a friend of mine) with a West Texas Aoudad Hunt. They texted me a picture this morning...........(I doctored it up a bit)

It was in the Marfa area (near where I got mine several years ago).

.300 WSM
180gr Winchester Power Point
372 Yards

That is an awesome ram! Proud of Hunter_1 for taking his dad and proud of his dad for making a long shot on a great 30" ram!

I enjoyed the heck out of my hunt and I know they enjoyed theirs. Aoudad in the mountains of West Texas is one heck of a hunt!!!

I've only dealt with the big old rams. Like any other creature.......the bigger and older..........

Never hunted one myself, nor know anyone that has, but I've heard they are one tough, tough critter that can absorb a lot of lead. I don't know if that true or not, but "that's what I've heard".

I've shot two. Both with a .308 Winchester. One took two shots and still ran off a ways. The other took 1 shot and fell over like struck by lightening. Go figure. Both animals taken at or just over 400 yards.

Congrats for a great hunt and a really big ram.

I used to see them once in a while in the Anti Atlas mountains of Morocco, but we were never allowed to hunt them. We called them Barbary Sheep.

Looks like a helluva good ram to me. It's hard to imagine a much bigger one because that puppy is stout.

WOW, I had a few pointed out and saw them through binnoculars when stationed in Texas, but did not realize how large of an animal they are.
