I leaned forward and addressed his woman, "Ma'am, would you please take your loud-a** child outside if he wants to talk to his little man friends on the phone?"

But Jason, what you did was verbal and didn't involve your physically taking the phone from the person. You simply spoke to the couple (sarcastic yes but just spoke). That's not stepping over the line and taking the "law" into your own hands. Pel physically took the phone from the girl (risking assault charges) and took it from her (robbery, maybe aggravated robbery)**

** The girl COULD have called the cops and said he assaulted her and stole her phone. He'd have had no recourse and would have likely been arrested. (He was in California, don't forget, where any physical action is usually illegal).

You on the other had just spoke and therefore what you did was not the same.

When people talk on phones in movies (or at the opera) I'll holler at them and then get an usher. If you get an usher they usually will toss the person out.

Hmmmmm- - - - - -it seems Huntsville has more than its share of butt-shooters! A couple of months ago an off-duty Decatur deputy tried to arrest a man in a WalMart store and ended up shooting him in the behind. Attempting an arrest 40 miles out of his jurisdiction got the cop fired!

I'm not commenting on this. There is no telling where the truth lies, and only a thorough investigation could even remotely bring it to light. For one thing, it's reported by a segment of the news media and you know what that is like. I don't even take a paper anymore because I got so tired of their Biased BS. Any version of a story given by the media involving firearms is suspect to me due to most newsies left handed leanings. And as far as the participants or rather suspects go, it's one party's word against the other. Most of the time the truth can be deduced by thorough questioning of all parties involved, any and all witnesses that can be found (There's more times than not somebody that neither party observed on the fringes who witnesses part if not all of an altercation) and a good analysis of all the data by an experienced team of investigators. And it doesn't appear that any of this has happened yet. Up to now it's all hearsay.

Otherwise, I'm gonna have to agree with Buffy's stand on this,

"I need to see pictures of the bikini clad girls in order to make a proper assessment."

    :yikes: :cool2: :rotflmao:
