“A gun is a tool, no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.”
The only bullpup I could cotton to was the Steyr AUG....the latter models are way improved over the early ones......and the early ones weren't too bad.....they learned, and got modular. Those British and French monstrosities were......how's it go? If you can't say something nice....Like it was said......years of forward magazine design is ingrained in us now.
God show's mercy on drunks and dumb animals.........two outa three ain't a bad score!
The Shernik has a bar that acts above the triggers pivot point allowing a pull instead of a pushing linkage. It is probably the best bullpup trigger out but there are some Tavor replacements that I haven't tried yet.

The theoretical advantages of the Bullpup design don't really reach fruition in the real world. The British SA80 was unfortunately dogged from the outset. Bean counters, re-design and all manner of cheap manufacture provided an inferior weapon, which really, it shouldn't have been. My own issued version when I served, was probably one of the most accurate rifles I had the pleasure to use. But, as was said at the time, all of the money went into the barrel and the sight, with barely a "tenner" to build the rest...
The A2 version, reworked A1's by H&K to bring them to what they should have been in the first place, is supposedly an outstanding rifle which is performing admirably in the current operations....

Where have you been E Bob? It's been like forever since we've seen you grace these pages. Anyway, welcome back.

I think the bullpup's main advantage is CQB such as HD in the home . Not having that extra foot sticking out makes retention easier. Transporting either cased or slung is easier as well. I like the balance because the gun seems weightless when shouldered. The only downsides I see with semi's is slower follow up shots by a few hundredths of a second and awkward reloads for some. The bolt guns usually require unshouldering to reload. If I can find the right comp mine will be replacing my 3gun rifle.

Bushmaster M17S. I shoot long guns left handed so this is a rifle I always think I should sell but never get around to it.
