    Well... most of them are around or below the I-4 Corridor. That's the line that separates "Primarily Republican" from "Primarily Democrat" in Florida.

    Tourism/unemployment/some have big populations/transients/on or just off major Interstates/good weather................

    Don't mean squat no matter where you live if you were the victim of a crime, even in a city with a very low crime rate.

    Interesting stats, though.

    I can understand Pensacola being where it is on the list but I'm pretty supprised to see Panama City on there.

    That's the problem I have with the list: they include property crime, robber, and larceny in their assessment of how "dangerous" a city is. You take away that and focus only on violent crime, and Panama City's crime rate's about 10% of the total crime rate. It actually goes lower than Leesburg, FL.

    So... same old, same old. I had a friend who's Dad was a lawyer. Nice guy, fled Cuba when Castro came to power. He obeyed all traffic regulations.

    Unless he had to go through Overtown.

    I grew up in Miami during the 50's, You could go party anywhere without worry.I suppose it was that way almost everywhere! Things have certainly changed.Miami was a good place to grow up during the 50's

    I'm surprised PC is so high on the list, lots of drug traffic, etc, I guess. I know P'cola was bad. Lots of gangs.

    Me, too. Guess the property type crimes skew the results. Never have felt unsafe in PC or coastal areas East. Now as for Jacksonville and Miami! :silly: :silly: :silly:
    Jacksonville was bad in the '70s when my ship was home ported in Mayport. But Jacksonville Beach was pretty safe, except on Navy payday. Buncha sailors and Marines trying to drink the place dry. :tooth:

    I would like to see a breakdown on the types of crimes, victim types CCW etc, are many of these crimes related to drug sales etc. or crimes against unarmed people in general?

    Like I said horrific stuff can happen anyplace these days....the guy who shot his daughter and six of her kids in Bell FLA, never even heard of it or even seen a sign for an Interstate exit leading to it when I travel through I-75 Gainsville area.

    Now it is on the map, as they say.
