A couple of friends from Michigan showed up for the opener of bird season and brought me this....

Hunting over the next few days was tough...birds were few and far between, but finally, on the last day we got into them....
This ain't South Dakota....you will work for every bird you get. We saw exactly ONE rooster in three days of hunting...and broke my dog in the process....

What do you expect from a guy that makes part of his living from running a charter boat? :tooth:
I've been drinking the 12 year old for years, but my wife found and bought me the 15 yo for anniversary and it is smoooooth. I've sampled the 18 yo, too, and it is truly lovely. Can't afford to drink it every day, thank goodness, but when you really want to treat yourself, it is special.

In my part of the state, roosters have been few and far between for about 5 years now. Quail are on the upswing...covey sizes are finally to the point that I don't feel bad about hunting them....
