Savage, a Garand is way too sexy for you.

Good man. I'm at three right now: Browning A Bolt, 03, and Garand.

I'm guessing you bought a Savage.

Because you dance when I say, monkey boy.

It's a 03 Springfield, 1928 .... Can't remember which arsenal now. I had pics on my phone but they're all gone.

I have five but had as many as six. I made one into a 9.3x62. But I don't have an 03 and wish I did, so therefore you suck.

I have that 03-A3, a 1917 Eddystone Enfield, a Springfield Garand and a Winchester Garand, AND a Model 700 SPS. I hunt a lot with the 700. I threaten every year to try to kill a hog with one of the Garands, but as of yet that's mainly just talk on my part. I just hope you resist the temptation to sporter that baby. Factory 06s are very available and that would be a waste. Shoot it and enjoy it and don't drill and tap it or reblue it. Just take care of it as it is. That's a classic for sure.

Is this in military dress or has it been "sporterized"...

SURE you do. In that case, I've got ten, no a dozen 03s. Heck, I'm thinking about giving some away. Oh, yeah...03s running out the wazoo. Or, pig's wazoo, for you.

No sporterizing here. It's the real deal.

I honestly meant to put a pic in the first part. That's the moment I discovered all 500 some odd pics on my phone were gone.

OK. Receiver is Rock Island Armory, made in 1919. Re-arsenaled in 1928 by Springfield.

If you can look at it, you can take a pic.

RIA is cool, no worries about heat treating. Should be a straight or scant stock and no stamped parts if it was finished in 1928.

    Camp Perry is in July.

OK,Buffy. You finally remembered! The receiver/bolt was made by Rock Island Armory in 1919, one of the last 1,000 made at RI. It was finished out by Springfield with a barrel, scant stock, and other parts in 1928, and issued to the 4th Marines in San Diego. What we don't know is when it was retired from active service. It's an interesting "hybrid" that has a special interest to serious '03 collectors. I'm glad you have it!

I can look at it tomorrow.

Geeeeeze....I don't know what to say about this! I may have been involved in a "troika" type situation between a man and his wife a time or two in the past, but it was always HE who should not know
