While I understand that they're angry...

How many folks sue Jack Daniel's because a family member was an alcoholic?

A good many folks sue tobacco companies because a family member died of lung cancer. This country is sue crazy.

I would like to think that the judge who gets this case will dismiss it on general principle, but I'm not overly optimistic. I never thought anybody who sued the tobacco industry should get paid for the choices their relatives made to smoke, and I don't see this as being much different.

It should be thrown out due to a law passed a few years ago by Congress. Can't sue the gun manufacturer for a death caused by murder; only can sue if firearm is defective and injures owner or someone the owner lets shoot it.

Here's a small blurb on the law protecting firearms manufacturers from such suits:

The people initiating the lawsuit can't go after the kid because he has nothing, and he killed his mother, so suing her is out. The lawsuit is nothing more than a bunch of people trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

Might as well sue the vehicle manufacturer that he used to drive himself to the scene of the crime.
