I was hoping you were going to say .22 TCM. Something about that gun intrigues me. I don't yet have a 1911. But when I do, it might very well be in 9mm.
I'm biased in this hunt, since I'm a lifelong .45 fan, but imo, a first 1911 should be .45acp, then branching out for a Europorn 9mil would be the next thing on the list.
Finally got the right gun today! :applause:
First impressions:
They shipped the gun in a BAG of lubricant, no worries about corrosion when you get a new one, holy crap I had to degrease the whole gun and lube it up correctly, it was literally dripping in lubricant when I took it out of the case.
While I don't have any rounds through it yet, all I can say is WOW I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with this gun.
This is the smoothest NEW 1911 I have ever felt, it's action is like soft butter, I would expect this on a high dollar custom gun but not a $400 gun. The high vis sights are impressive and while I thought I might not like the grips, just holding it feels right, I have never a gun with grips this aggressive but with the thumb notch they just feel good. (that may change once I shoot it??) Trigger seems excellent, the gun is just tight, but still smooth as glass. Oh and it doesn't have a "billboard" across the gun, it is just a damn fine looking gun.
Looking forward to giving you all a range report soon, if it shoots anything like it feels, there will be a bunch of rounds going through this gun and 10MM long slide may not be far behind.
I'd be tempted to get one of those, ream the barrel from 9mm to .38 Super, and swap mags for .38 Super. From what I understand, that's what it takes to change it from 9mm to .38 Super.
Ooooooooooooooooooor..... fit a .38 Super barrel, get .38 Super mags, and have a convertible 9mm to .38 Super.
Nice score.
Oooooor ream it out to 357 Sig. Get a 40 barrel and ream it out 400Cor Bon then the 22 tcm to round out the bottleneck selection.
Wal Mart where the discriminating white trash shop.
Paddle faster!!! I hear banjos.

One of those all dolled up 10mm long slides would be nice. Will see how this one goes first.
