3 Gun in California?

bruchibruchi Posts: 2,581 Senior Member
Was watching 3 Gun Nation yesterday, great show by the way, noticed that they had contestants from California where black evil rifles are forbidden, how in the world do they practice, where do they store their non- California legal competition rifles with the high capacity magazines, the same for the high capacity magazines for their race handguns, they had 20+ round magazines for them?
If this post is non welcomed, I can always give you a recipe for making "tostones".

I'm guessing either they are lucky fellows who have "pre-ban" gear, or they practice with limited capacity gear while in state and buy/borrow full capacity magazines when they go out of state.

That would put them in great disadvantage as they would not be able to practice with the same gear, same for folks in NY, Boston and so on and the guys on that particular episode including those from CA where the top shooters, weekends in a close by gun friendly state to practice?

ARs aren't banned in Ca....just have to have certain modifications....I don't live there and I may be wrong, but it's my understanding that an AR can be "uncalifornicated" with a few minor parts swaps....

It's a collar that goes around the magazine release. You cant remove the magazine with out a tool so it's legal. A easy part to change out or you could use a cartridge to release the mag. Like anything else if there is a will there will be a way. They have a ring you can wear to release the mag or you get this little magnet chinkaderis that sticks to the mag release that is removable when you are done. Now the mags are a problem if you bought them before 2000 you can legally use them, most gun owners of this evil rifle were stock piling mags before the dead line. I have so many I use them to barter with and send to folks as thank you gifts.

For a while bushmaster made a closed mag well Ar for the Ca market. They didn't go over well. I actually saw someone using one at the range. A real pitiful sight to watch him load that rifle.

Heh Heh, Gay-R-15, it should be pink and the owner should have to wear a pink party dress and spike heels too.

    California is sooooooooooooo kool !!!

Hell I have been shooting with a bunch of guys who call themselves the Pink Pistols. No high heels though.

Buford, this magazines you secure with the collar are limited to 10 rounders? Now those that have lived there for a spell and have the grandfathered stuff fine and dandy but what about someone that lives elsewhere where "black rifles" are fine who competes in 3 gun matches, can this person bring his gear to CA if moving there?

I do believe you can bring them for a competition. As to moving here I don't think you can.
I will see what I can find out, I'm not sure about the above. The DOJ web site is making my head hurt.
