When did Trump start to fully embrace the second amendment? He's on record as being against "assault weapons," wants to extend the waiting period on rifles on shotguns, and while he says he's against gun control, that is preceded by the lawyer weasel-word "generally." Which means if he wants to, he can justify "some" gun control.

Also, I've seen it mentioned that Trump is a self-made millionaire. Not really true. He got his start by renovating and managing multimillion-dollar properties his dad had purchased. Nothing wrong with that, but that to my mind isn't really being "self-made." I knew a plumber who moved to central Florida with a truck and some fittings. He grew that company to a multimillion-dollar mechanical contractors company (plumbing, HVAC) that has done work for several high-dollar and profile clients.

He's from New York. It's a process. I think he's seen so much abuse from Odummer and his henchmen he is ready to embrace the 2A more fully. AND, as we know, Donald didn't just fall off the turnip truck. He knows what he needs to win an election as a conservative and I hope once there he would have sense enough to realize that if he wants to stay there twice, he will need to embrace the conservative side of guns. Just my guess.
    Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

He's a self made Billionaire. He did start with his fathers help but that empire he has created and the brand awareness on his name are all his. As you said nothing wrong with that. Never understood the concept of letting a decent established family business die on the vine because of not wanting to follow your successful father's footsteps.

On the 2A front I do need to do some more checking. Was not aware of the points you brought up because I've never followed him as a viable political figure.
To me "self-made" means you use your own capital, not your daddy's. Or to put it another way, you got there without significant help. I don't think Mr. Trump qualifies.

On the Second Amendment front, it's from the book he published in 2000, "The America We Deserve." Direct quotes as follows:

It’s often argued that the American murder rate is high because guns are more available here than in other countries. Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed. The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions.

I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record.

Has he changed his mind? Maybe. But I've not found any reports where he says he has and now denies his earlier ideas. Just that he's strongly in support of the Second Amendment.
    Meh.

Or maybe he's just pandering to get your vote, and you're falling for it?

He had a full hour of the Hannity show last night. He was interviewed in his Trump Tower complex in NYC. He said they told him it was only possible to be built a few stories high and he went 68. His current venture is an old post office building he is turning into an elaborate hotel. Trump's Triumphs, I reckon.

He was more toned down last night and more mellow. His example of the NY state women who didn't like guns where the killers escaped was happy now because her husband had them out on every table in their house now for protection. First time it sounded like she went out and bought them.

Hannity and Trump both have CCW for NYC and Hannity said they were hard to get, very true only a select few can get them.

A surprising number of voters are listening to Trump now and giving him consideration.

One of his solutions to stopping ISIS is deny them money and destroy the oil wells they are getting revenue from, said big oil could rebuild them in a short time later on. I like a lot of his idys and Lord knows we have tried about everything else from full scale wars to doing half hearted minimal use of force and Obammy is reluctant to do even that.

Republicans are saying the White House has declared war on French Fries, but won't even say Islamic Terrorist and identify and declare war on our enemy. True!

Weather he is serious or just Trump blowing his Trumpet again, he does have an interesting approach to the race and issues on the table.

I'm OK with him doing what he is doing as long as he stays with the Republican ticket and lets the chips fall where they may and doesn't go Independent and pull an H Ross Perot.

He keeps calling himself a great negotiator, he is good no argument there, but I thought this guy was the best :rotflmao::rotflmao::spittingcoffee::spittingcoffee:

Without disclosing a plan on how he's going to do it beyond just saying he'll do it? Yes. As my Democrat friends have learned, never trust a campaign promise.

No need for pandering. There is an "R" after his name.

It's like that left Twix right Twix commercial. Just substitute Democrat for Left Twix and Republican for Right Twix. They are same-same but some people think they're different.
