Gunman Killed Trying to Rob Ex-Reporters Lynne Russell and Chuck de Caro in Albuquerq

Good for them. :up::up::up::up:

Armchair quarterbacking, I believe she left her gun on the nightstand while she went to the car to retrieve something. Her husbands was too while he was in the shower. Can't say it would have made any difference how the dirtball forced himself in at gunpoint. She was carrying something like we all do at motels and then we are using our card key to try and get the door open, perfect time fer a criminal to make his play.

They may wanna rethunk , I dunno.

My :angel2::angel2: prayers to them both and his full recovery.

    I think that their guns were small caliber, and the bad guy got several rounds and kept coming? Maybe they need to up their firepower?

    But otherwise, terrific! How it's supposed to be.

    They were such experts they forgot the basics, have a gun, not just any gun, something effective, something practical.

    I think the man was very lucky to have survived. I'm wondering why the woman didn't shoot, since the BG was probably focused on the man. Her husband had to draw and fire while the guy was already pointing at him with his finger on the trigger (I assume).

    Saw this on the news. Her gun was in her purse, bad guy forced his way into the room at gun point. She pretended to be flustered as hubby came from the shower she handed hubby her purse saying see if anything in there will stop him from hurting us. Hubby pulled out her .40sw and exchanged gunfire with the bad guy. Hubby shot 3 time expected to make a full recovery bad guy began to cool to room temperature as police wrote the report

    At least she gave her husband the firearm, otherwise they both may be dead. If you are non-LE there is no training to kick in, so she did her best. I am amazed that it worked out so well, she used her head and saved both of them.

    Did not the report say she had been a Deputy somewhere ?

    "Russell — herself a licensed private investigator and former Fulton County, Georgia, sheriff's deputy with two martial arts black belts —"

    I thought so.....
    So she had training...
