.410 Revisited

On the Box O' Truth. Don't know if it has been posted before, but the guys at the BOT did another set of tests of the .410 this time with the 3" Judge and some new rounds designed specifically for self defense.
And I am still not impressed.

Unless life also hands you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck!

Shot loads do not fair well with rifling in any hand gun, buckshot fired out of a full sized shotgun has a horrible pattern if there is rifling involved including just a rifled choke tube.
I think the judge has a place as a kit gun or a boat gun, esp, in the southeast.

Now the revolver carbine (circuit judge??) I might like just because it's a revolver carbine
SirGeorge,
The legend of the Taurus Judge is right up there with the quote in your signature!
That report further proves that the .410 is lacking penetration and is more of a novelty firearm. The Judge may be fine for getting rid of some pesky varmints, shooting clay birds, and making patterns on paper, but I would never buy one solely for SD.
:uhm: :uhm: :uhm: HUH ???
Modern liability being what it is, you need to be sure of your target.

Too big for CCW IMO.
For the price I would rather have a Blackhawk.
But that is just me.
