  Belt, pulley or bearing in the water pump or one of the idlers or tensioner. Spray it with soapy water (the belt) while running and see if the noise goes away. If so, you need a belt.

  Damn I didn't catch that. That engine also has a camshaft synchronizer that is notorious for that. Is it a 4.2 I believe???

  I'll guarantee a trsticle that you need a camshaft synchronizer. Not expensive but it's not real easy to install. It's right above the water pump and behind the water pump bypass hose. And it can leave you stranded btw. Takes a tool that usually comes with the new part to keep it in time. It's able to be clocked like a distributor.
