Dogs know when something is wrong. Especially when their pal isn't around. My oldest daughter was having a crying spell the other day and snuggled up to mom on the couch. Our pooch perked up from a dead sleep when he heard her crying. He went over to her and put his paw on her. Probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. He refused to leave her side.

My pooch Patrick does that, if I get annoyed by something on TV, he will snuggle and poke me until I get calm again, he is not into tricks, but he can tell when I am not feeling well.

My condolences on your loss Jay.
