Cool. Are there any restrictions on how the meat can or must be used?
See above.
I don't know if there are laws or restrictions. But, as I said above, I use all the deer meat or give it to those that want/need it. I quarter it up and take the meat on ice to those that want it. They give me the cooler back when they are through processing it.

The rancher I shot the does for last night is actually a Game Warden as well. We do a lot of shooting on his place. He has a steel range set up out to 800 yards and he is 5 minutes from my house. Works out nicely.

I once shot a doe for a lady that wanted some venison whose husband was too lazy to do it himself, although he had ample opportunity. I skinned, dressed, and quartered the deer. I even cut out the backstraps for her. Iced everything down, put it in a cooler, and dropped it off at their house when they were at church.
Got a call from her later that afternoon that if it wasn't "butchered and packaged", the husband didn't want it.

Mike, would you mind going and shooting a nice, young fat cow elk, butcher it for me and put it in my freezer? And if you don't mind, shoot it in the head or neck. Meat spoilage, you know.

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.

All the ranches that I cull for use MLD Tags. All I have to have is a valid hunting license. The landowner has a set number of tags to use. He takes my information and puts it on the management records as well as the MLD Tag. Issues me the tag with the deer and I'm out of there. Don't have to use any of my hunting license tags.
Edit: As long as I have a valid hunting license with me, I can put either my hunting license # or DL# in the ledger and on the MLD Tag. Doesn't HAVE to be a hunting lic # on the tag.
As a contrast, game animal culls over here are simpler. If it involves 4 legged critturs you just go out, find the critturs and shoot them........24/7. No restrictions on spotlighting at night etc as long as its on private land.
Still enjoying the trip of a lifetime and making the best of what I have.....

All I can say is that it sure was a tasty doe.
