Momma scores big
I decided to have my wife hunt with me on Sat evening. 30 min before dark I rattled in this 8 pt beauty to within 20 yards and she made a great shot. Congrats to my sweetie and yes this will be a wall hanger! I passed up a smaller 8 and 6 pt that morning as my neighbor have been game managing and he was on our list to take!

Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

Congrats!
Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.
What did she shoot it with?

She shot it with a Tikka T3 in .308 with 150 gr ballistic tip. Talk about buck fever she was shaking so bad telling me to take the shot. I never raised my rifle, I just told her to relax, breath get her sight picture and squeeze the trigger. She broke the right front shoulder with her shot. The buck jumped walked 10 yards and laid down just out of sight inside the woods line. We gave him 30 min and went to claim her prize. Thank goodness my youngest was home for the weekend, it took all three of us to get him on the 4-wheeler. Great hunt! I told her that was a buck of a life time. Forty five years of hunting and I've never killed one like that!
I tell you what I love rattling and using my grunt tube on deer. He came into the rattling in a hurry but stayed just inside the wood line looking for the bucks. I grunted and he came right to the edge of the food plot 20 yards away where she shot him. Without the rattling and grunt tube I doubt we would have ever seen him, or the other two I passed up that morning.
