test run....OK,****! Here we go again....I can post but it doesn't go through! Anyhow, maybe this will work!

My Great Grandaddy (never knew him) was sheriff in Harris County way back in the 1890's. One Mean SOB, according to family history--killed several "outlaws"! Harris County is a very rural, agricultural part of the world, though Callaway Gardens is there, and FDR's Farm of several thousand acres was there. My Great Uncle, Otis Moore, was FDR's farm manager for 12 years back in the 1930's 'till 1945. Otis used to make frequent runs to Phoenix City, Alabama (couple of hours away by auto in the 1930's) to get bonded whiskey for the President who didn't care for the white likker Otis and others of my family made! Hell, I'm probably kin to half the old families in the County....gonna check my family records and see if the present sheriff and I are kin! We are in spirit, I can tell you that!

Sounds like he has his head on straight. Political correctness is the last refuge of the mentally deficient and morally bankrupt.

We're kin in spirit, but not by blood! Checked with my last remaining Uncle today, and he says NO. But he knows the Sheriff, and says he's "top notch"! He was career Army, in the MP's, retired out at Ft. Benning, liked the area and stayed! (the Fort...named after my 3rd cousin, by-the-way, a former Confederate General) Said the Sheriff has been elected several times and will continue to be elected as long as he runs!
