Dems really pushing for gun ownership questions on medical questionaires.

I see only one purpose for this: to use Obamacare and the IRS to deny, and enforce, health insurance on gun owners. Either pay a massive premium above the normal cost or get dropped and subsequently penalized. It would also work as a defacto gun registry.

They just want to make us slowly more comfortable with more intrusion into our privacy...

I sold all my guns and upgraded to tactical thermonuclear weapons. I don't give a rip about collateral damage! :tooth:

I have instructed my family that we own no firearms if asked. Although any firearm purchased through a FFL dealer has a 4473 form on record. I don't think it would be hard to look up that information, then what they charge you with perjury?

I had that same form when I lived in Maryland, in 2002, it asked if I owned guns, used illegal drugs etc... I drew a diagonal line and wrote; "Questions NA to patient care" with a sharpie, the receptionist was not amused, my PCP an avid hunter and shooter laughed about it.

The people at my doctors office are so under staffed overwhelmed distracted and other discriptives I'll refrain from I don't think any information besides billing will be scrutinised.
I think same can be said for the insurance providers.
My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

Hmmm ... we were sworn in to answer? I'd guess no to criminal perjury. Now if you make false statements on the "contract" you sign for insurance coverage there is likely legal mumbo jumbo that will allow the company to cancel the policy, no pay claims, sue for past paid claims, etc on the business end you likely could be screwed over by their legal staff.

If with these new medical forms, the government insists on turning me into either a high risk loon, a criminal, or a liar, I'll pick liar.

As Doc stated, they've ben doing this for a while. Like Buford's family, all here have been instructed to just answer no.

When asked personally, I have answered by asking how that was relevant to having my ingrown toenails removed...it wasn't, apparently. Strangely, they only asked me that one time. Go figure.

I leave anything blank that is not pertinent to my care or insurance and have had no problem.

So gun owners get less freedom than other people. This is America where everyone gets freedom.

It's not any sort of bill or law yet, but it's being urged by some party line democrats.

Another thing that is being pushed is they want to require everyone to go in for their "check ups". If you don't they will cancel you or charge you a higher premium claiming that people who don't get regular physicals are a higher risk. While that may be true... the real thing they want is to make sure everyone has medical records and samples (like DNA) on file so they can use them at a later point if they want. Also once regular physicals are required, the next thing will be if you don't take all the drugs that are prescribed for you... cancelled or higher premiums. And they'll know if you aren't getting your prescriptions filled because they'll get the records from the pharmacy and when they check your blood they'll know if you have been filling the prescriptions but not taking them. How far down the slippery slope are we? Starting to seem like Orwell and Huxley were optimists.

That would depend on the date of your last purchase. If it's been like a year or two since you bought something, then you can always say, "Oh we saw the light and sold all our guns a year ago."

    How they gonna prove anything?

However, do you have a plan to hide your firearms in case the caca hit's the fan? That's the main thing. I'm not getting rid of my guns for no stupid Constitution hating politicians.

I have had to answer questions like that both on medical form and verbally.. I for one am not ashamed nor embarrassed to answer YES!!!!..I know its not a question of embarrassment or being ashamed but never the less I will continue to exercise my 2nd amendment right, and even if we did not have the right, I would still own guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Sounds like tough talk from a N.C. Hillbilly, but that's my 2cents worth.

Treasure map with multiple X's ... not that I would but a barn has nice places to stash things. Country folk have a big advantage on cache stashing places. I actually heard a guy talking about hiding stash tubes in his pond if need be.

With HIPPA and the ACA, a LOT of those documents are starting to be reported to the Govt. and put in various datdatabases. George Orwell was only off by a few decades
