  I have my heart set on a nice .45-70. Plus, I don't think Walmart sells guns in this state.

  After reading your post yesterday I decided to go to Wally World this morning to check out the Remlin 30/30 lever that I saw there earlier. You're right Uncle Fester. That thing looked like the wood was fit to it by a monkey having a seizure. Horrible wood to metal fit. Tool marks on the metal, splotchy or uneven bluing. Quality control must have had their hours cut.
  No pride in their product, that's for sure. In it's defense though, it looks better than the "Tactical" version of the lever action. That was the ugliest rifle I ever laid eyes on.

  Wuz just at Walmart.....also a 45-70 short mag tube lever Marlin for I think $569 or $579 or so. I didn't handle it, but none look as good as the older ones to me.
