If a boss hated me that badly, I think I'd quit! Maybe he just needs a little education in how to select a firearm?

His heart is in the right place, he just doesn't know jack about guns.....

He said he gave each of his employees a Taurus Judge revolver, which can fire shotgun shells. It can fire the shot in a relatively wide range, increasing the chances that the ammunition will make contact, Toland said.

“This Judge, if someone comes into the room and you aim in that direction, you’re going to get a piece of them,” Toland said. He added that the gun is the “perfect weapon” for anyone who is not a “seasoned marksman.”

The .410 is very dangerous and with the 45 cold bullet hitting sideways it would be bad news, too.

I have it from a good authority, (He said he was!) that by using copper washed shot, in the .410 made it better than a 12 gauge.

It is impossible to miss with it since it uses shotgun shells. Three pellets is three times as deadly as a single bullet. :sarcasm:

Yea, I would quit my job. That would be like buying my guys all new hammers for framing-- except the hammers are rubber mallets. A piss poor tool for the job at hand.

It is a sight better than no gun and in an office environment where most probably are not gun aficionados, still a Taurus and in .410

Dang, wish that guy who was banned on here a few years ago who tried to convince us how much a man stopper the .410 is was still around.:tooth:

His heart is in the right place, fer sure and I applaud him for that. He knows his employees better than anyone, I guess.

Hey, unless he specifically says you must keep and carry that thing ... you got a little trade value ... what is the trade value on an unfired Taurus Judge? ... at least $50 :jester:

Heart is in the right place but a gift certificate to the LGS for $550, the MSRP because if he doesn't have the knowledge to skip a Taurus he pays retail, so the employee can go pick out what fits them and their taste.

I guess if I could sell it to an idiot and buy a real gun it wouldn't be a bad deal. I encourage the guys that work for me to carry-- I pay them for the day they take their CPL class which essentially covers the cost of the class and then some. If they choose to pick out a turd to carry, that is their own bad judgment, not mine. For a budget carry gun, I suggest a LC9 or LCR or something that is quality sitting in the used case.

I kinda suspect with no more employees than this guy has, he probably quizzed them all before hand. What I would do if i was in his shoes is go beeting the bushes for some good used S&W J frames. Or find a deal on some Glocks in 9mm. I'm not going to bash the Judge, but there's a lot better carry weapons out there. The Judge was designed to be worn under a judges robe which make's it very concealable, not in a IWB Holster. The Judge is way too big to do that well. If you try to conceal it you'll look like you have a 10 pound Tumor growing on your side.

I remember a photo posted here, posted by B.C. IIRC.

It was of a Taurus Judge cylinder star, it looked like it had been rough carved by Fred Flinstone & Barney Rubble, with a chisel & mallet.
