We are the stockholders and its HIGH freaking time we start acting like it and get our collective heads out of our subservient ass...

Nice try, but the entire population of a democratic republic is not going to support a corporate government that is motivated purely by greed. Sure, a benevolent elite class is going to try to raise the standard of living to just the right level to keep their stockholders from open revolt. But, what they are not going to do is work very hard to promote competition against their own interests. The logical conclusion to a decade of such a government would not be significantly different from the oligarchical economy of Russia.

Donald Trump is not going to make America great. He is going to make America shut up and entertain itself by watching reality TV dramas, and let the really smart people conduct all of the business.

The folks supporting Trump aren't necessarily supporting his policies (other than his 'wall', does he have any policies?) Or what he says...they're just hungry to hear somebody say it the way he's been saying it. They want to feel like somebody important actually gives a crap. Folks are buying into the performance...we're going to elect a crappy politician with a big mouth. Again.

Well, Senators and Governors elected in the past haven't done squat (from both sides of the isle or as the POTUS) to get the wall built. Trump will. Guaranteed.

Time fer a businessman to git er done. We have tried about everyone else and got what????????????????????

The spigot has to be turned off at the source. Other things will soon get better and then we can start dealing with illegals already here.

Guaranteed? How can it be guaranteed by anyone, without dictatorial power? Trump can order it to be built, but what if Congress won't appropriate the 10 billion dollars to do it.? Every Democrat will submit an amendment to water it down, and every Republican will have an idea for reducing the cost by using other means, in some areas.

Do you believe Trump when he says he invented this issue? If you do, you have been asleep for at least 20 years. The goal of the conservatives in the Republican party has been to control illegal immigration for decades, with a wall in some places, increased manpower in some places, and enforcing existing law against the people who hire the illegals. Sure, they haven't got it done, because Democrats unleash the media against them until their leadership backs down, but how do you think that will be different with Trump? There may be enough public support to overcome that, now, but all that is needed from a president is a pledge to enforce the law and sign the bills put forward to fund it.

Trump is an "end justifies the means" politician. If he can't deliver his promises, he will make the excuse that Congress won't back him, just as every other politician has been doing for decades. The fact that it may be true does not mean that he didn't know all of this before he made the promise.

When a leading political candidate is forced into silence for any reason whatsoever it is violence pure and simple. The candidate, his supporters, and the Constitution are all victims - they have all been mugged. Symbolically, but just as surely as if they were actually beaten to a pulp.

This is primarily the fault of the mainstream press, which has created in Mr. Trump a non-existent, fictional monster. Trump has been reported to be anti-immigrant, and nothing could be further from the truth. He is only anti-illegal immigrant - a world of difference there - and he has repeatedly expressed his willingness, even eagerness, to readmit those criminal aliens once they comply with the laws of the land. Trump has been reported to be anti-Muslim, and once again, it is a big lie, told often enough that it is now believed by the low-information masses to be true. Trump is only anti-radical-Islamists -against the Muslims that want to do us harm, abuse women, establish Sharia, and destroy western civilization. Every sane person, including most Muslims, oppose the jihadism of radical Islamists. Many among the demonstrators tonight think Trump is a racist - with absolutely no evidence to back that up. Trump employs and has employed thousands of people with no indication of racial, gender, or any other kind of bias.

The press has fed its audience a steady diet of half-truths, misrepresentations, and outright lies, and nobody with a national voice is calling them on it. The result of this was seen tonight in Chicago - thousands of clueless, mislead, and just plain wrong-headed people taking to the streets for no valid reason, wrecking a political rally, and calling it democracy and freedom. The world is turned upside down, and stuck ass-deep in the quicksand of political dystopia, and sinking fast.

The good news is this "quiet riot" will solidify Trump's support even more, and anyone becoming disgusted watching this fiasco on TV, will now vote for The Donald with even greater enthusiasm. I look for this charade in Chicago to build Trump's support faster and farther than the cancelled rally ever could have done. Now, more than ever, we can see why a stake must be driven through the heart of political correctness, why the press must be crushed by the voters ignoring it and it's deliberate deceptions. This election isn't just about political office, it's about salvaging what's left of our culture and national sanity, and restoring truth to our national discourses.

Lots of Mexican flags were carried by the demonstrators - that's all you need to know.

And also one reason for this is too many stupid ignorant people are allowed to speak out and influence political decision. And the reason they are stupid and ignorant is that the main stream media which is so socialistic they border upon Communistic, have been permitted, along with the educational system, to indoctrinate unsuspecting Dumb Asses.

Yeah, I'm aware of the Constitution and the First Amendment, but the constitution was designed to be read and interpreted by people with common sense and free of an agenda of overthrowing a great nation.

He will do everything within his power/influence to get the WALL built and I believe he will, has the best chance of any of them. That is what I meant by saying Guaranteed, I know he will push it like their ain't no tomorrow and I believe he has a better chance than the rest who joined in one fashion or another since the REP race began, Trump pushed it in debates.

When Cruz (and Kasich and Rubio) took turns on TV joining Bernie, the Democrats, and the Press in blaming Trump for instigating the rioting that forced cancellation of his rally in Chicago, I saw who the real Republican was. And who the real conservative was. And who is owned, and who is not. And who is a true defender of the Constitution and free political speech, and who is not. And then when they went back on their commitment, given in the first debate, to support whoever wins the GOP nomination, if it is indeed The Donald, I saw who the fair-weather Republicans really are, and who are the willing tools and lapdogs of the big donors and the RNC party establishment.

I remember. They are the same ones instigating the "occupy" crap. I also remember the L.A. Watts riots. I still love Frank Zappa's input on those "Trouble Commin' Every Day".

Ok he's a narcissist, how does that make him a potential bad president? I weigh that against all the potential positives and quite frankly I'm ok if he kisses himself in the mirror every morning. Hell I do...

There have been many, many narcissists in public life. Hell, at least half of all actors have narcissistic tendencies. Narcissism in varying degrees can even be a plus in politics, because self-confidence is so important. In fact, that particular form of sociopathy is quite common among regular citizens, and many of them are very high functioning, and present no danger to the public. There is a place for people who are not overly sympathetic to the emotional weakness of others, as long as they are still able to logically understand the emotions that they, themselves don't really feel, to any great extent.

The danger, with narcissists, is that their self-love is not static. It flows, according to the outside stimulus they receive, and how their logical mind processes it. Without logical checks and balances on it, it can flow right on into a Messianic complex - something that has always worried me about Barack Obama. I'm guessing that reality has creeped into his life, just enough to keep him from refusing to step down from the presidency, according to a law which I am quite sure he believes should not apply to him. I guess we will know, for sure, in a few months.

When I read Jerm's link to the Mayo clinic description of classic narcissistic behavior, I was really surprised that there was no picture of Donald Trump. Apparently, he has had enough business setbacks and defeats to keep him from progressing into a full-blown Messianic complex. I hope that continues. Two narcissists in a row seems to be pushing our luck, as far as keeping the cheese firmly on top of the cracker. :tooth:

Politicians in general, as well as a huge majority of business entrepreneurs, share that trait. "If I don't beat my own drum, nobody else is going to do it for me" seems to be the attitude of most successful people. Being humble and self-effacing might be a good mask to wear, but when the makeup comes off, virtually any successful politician, or business person has to have a very healthy self-interest as his/her driving force. The world is full of mediocre nice guys who will never rise to the top of the heap.

There is no question that narcissistic traits are present in EVERY candidate that is running, both D and R. Many successful people share some of those traits. My concern is the extent of the narcissism. Most all of us have those traits to one extent or another and it can be a good thing if balanced by a little self awareness, empathy, and humility.

I hear tell Moveon.org organized these riotous protests. That's their style. In their view, nobody's opinions or beliefs count according to the Constitution but theirs so they say screw the first amendment. So in their view the constitution is just gets in their way, unless it's interpreted to fit their needs.

Yeah, most of them try to hide it, but they just can't help themselves. This is one reason Capitalism and Conservatism have such a hard time being popular with the masses. If some of these narcissist jerks would think about where they came from and that maybe they had a little help getting there and that maybe they should be more humble and drop down on their prayer bones and thank their maker for what they have, people wouldn't think so badly of them and maybe more people would trust them with power and you would never have to worry about a scum bag like Hillary or Big O ruling over them. That's one reason Bernie the Commie is doing well. Yeah, he's a commie, but he's a little more humble than most of these clowns.

There's always the infamous 1992 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, the "Flagship" of an American automobile manufacturer. Ford had to change out some some parts (valve cover gaskets IIRC) to get the percentage of US made parts high enough to keep from having to sell them as (pay tariffs for??) them being "mexican imports"

I'll GUARANTEE, more Americans got paid for building my "****" (Toyota) pick-up (in northern California) than ANY of you driving a full sized GM manufactured (Canadian built) pick-up.

    Edited to add:

Honda (Lincoln) and Hyundai (Montgomery) also contribute GREATLY to Alabamian's buying potential and from folks the Mrs knows who either came to or left MBUSI from one of them, their pay is comparable.

You always forget where your Toyota truck engines are built, right here in Huntsville.

I think if Trump does anything good, it will to bring an end to some of the Gov't waste and some of the alphabet agencies.
