Yes, that is a beautiful rifle no doubt. If I was ever going to hunt elephant or Texas deer I would get it. :jester:

Heck yes, I would too. Beautiful rifle but I am not a glutton for that much punishment! I know Zee is.

He'd need a pigmy to carry that rifle. It's bigger than he is...

A pigmy rifle carrier for the pigmy.

I saw a nice Mauser with octagon barrel and pretty stock at a gun store last weekend for only $450!!! Trouble was, it was chambered in .458 x2" American. An odd chambering for sure.

    I passed.

Already have a nice .458 Win Mag that kills deer nicely.

A quick rechambering to .450 Marlin would have made that one "interesting", I think!

So unless I missed it what caliber is it, not being familiar with the model.

Aka 450 Marlin -.1 of case length. Dang it! That would have been a cool rifle.

.458 X 2"- - - -a wildcat round based on a shortened-down .458 magnum. By deepening the belt counterbore a few thousandths, .450 Marlin factory ammo would fit the chamber.

About $100 in the rear sight, about that much more in the rings, could probably get a cool $200 for the scope, and not a stellar stock blank, but certainly not bargain basement either. If he wants to make a quick $200 profit, I'll play!:jester:

What's that thing chambered in? The link does not appear to say.

Dude! That would have been so freakin cool!! I bet you would have loved playing around with that one and some cast bullets or cheap 405gr 45-70 bullets.
