Constitutional carry is racist!

In Missouri, anyway.
Other black lawmakers said they feared it might make it more likely that black residents could get shot by people prejudiced against them.

"To me, this is modern-day lynching," said Democratic Rep. Kimberly Gardner, of St. Louis. "This bill would allow open season for vigilante-style behavior and put all of us at risk."

When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

Gun control has its roots in racism. The laws were designed to keep black people down. Freaking idiots!

But will the Gov sign it?

    Shouldn't matter....
The legislation passed the Republican-led Senate on a 24-8 party-line vote. The House then gave it final approval 114-36,

Enough of a majority that it does not need his signature?

Enough of a majority to overturn a veto, if the Democrat Gov Nixon decides to veto.

Googling is a legislators friend. To a simple legislators credit, when you read the links to the googling, most articles focus on the higher than average # of black homocides in Missouri, they conveniently leave out the data on the race of the murderers

Actually, they may have the best setup of all. Throwing a 'conservative' into the Governor's seat gives one party all the power. This legislation worked perfectly. If the Governor wants to waste precious political capital vetoing legislation that is so overwhelmingly popular...go right ahead. It'll be overturned in short order. Hell, this is one of those rare instances where signing the bill is a no-brainer. Even if he FREAKING HATES guns.

Since I don't travel much, that's the last thing I'll worry about. And I seriously doubt actually getting a permit for that reason alone will even be possible. Once they aren't required, I can see the sherrifs departments doing...nothing. No sense in administering something that's not needed.

except not having to ask "Mommy May I?" from the feds when you want to buy a gun. In most states, the carry license means they don't have to call the "instant" background check.

Too bad the storekeepers in Ferguson didn't exercise their constitutional rights the first time the BLM crowd showed up. I have a feeling having to crawl over a pile of bodies to do their looting and burning might have made those worthless thugs have a few second thoughts, no matter what George Soros was paying them!

Not here. Sill have to make the nics call even if you have a CCW permit.

That's dumb. There is a background check with the permit, right?

I think it used to be that way in FLA, but a background check is required for all gun purchases from an FFL now and all a CCW does is waiver the waiting period for a handgun purchase.

    FL's like that, too.

But I can walk out the store that day with my handgun. LEOs can't even do that unless they have a permit. They still have to wait, so I've got that going for me.
    Meh.

I think I would get frustrated with some customers at a gun store I go to. 2 or 3 times I have seen two obvious "Straw Purchases" where the clerk refused (rightfully so) to finish the sale. Three people, one a wife and a cousin or something giving different stories of who the gun is for and one trying to use a credit card with a different name on it to pay than the the one who filled out the forms on the computer as the purchaser!

One clerk a retired or Aux deputy and told one guy that after he wanted to argue with him. Said call the cops and they will tell you the same thing.

One guy tried to buy a handgun and when asked for his FLA Lic# started mumbling about being just arrived from NY or something and lived in his RV up the road and hasn't gotten a permanent address yet or FLA ID.......................
