House votes to ban Confederate flags on VA cemetery flagpoles

This was "wonderful" news to wake up to this morning. It proves to me that at least 265 members of our house of representatives have absolutely no sense of honor/respect. Many Confederate soldiers are buried with honors in our national cemeteries including Arlington. What is their next step? Dig them up and "chunk" them in landfills?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has voted to ban the display of the Confederate flag on flagpoles at Department of Veterans Affairs cemeteries.
The 265-159 vote would block descendants and others seeking to commemorate veterans of the Confederate States of America from flying the Confederate Battle Flag over mass graves, even on days that flag displays are permitted.
California Democrat Jared Huffman authored the prohibition, saying the flag represents "racism, slavery and division."
After a mass shooting at a South Carolina black church last year, the state legislature ordered the flag removed from the capitol in Columbia.
The House approved amendments last year to block the display and sale of the Confederate flag at national parks but a backlash from Southern Republicans caused GOP leaders to scrap the underlying spending bill.
This story has been corrected to reflect that the cemeteries are part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, not the Veterans Administration.

Erasing history they decided they don't like under the guise of whatever PC baloney is fashionable at the time and agreeing to do it because not that they give a rats ass, but it will gain them VOTES if they do and cost them if they don't (they think, anyhow).
Hell man, if the Stars and Bars flew in all 50 states, at least, Southern gentlemen would be gracious enough to let the Stars and Stripes fly to honor their war dead and heroes at monuments/memorials/statues/cemeteries.

I guess the anus chapeaus forgot that part about Federal law that treats Confederate grave sites at national cemeteries the same as Union grave sites. Democrats tend to run roughshod over any Federal law or regulation that gets in the way of their agenda. More from the party of the mentally deficient and morally bankrupt.

Exactly, just like all those warning labels on Tobacco and Alcohol products work so good to make people abstain from their use. And to go one step further, like taking guns away from the law abiding is going to end crime in the U.S.

The ignorance of the Left will tear this amazing nation apart, and it's already doing a pretty good job of that. If we let the left win this election I'm pretty sure we're done for it as we know this amazing nation. It would amaze me if it could recover again after that. I'll take my chances with Trump.

Down the road a couple miles from me is a road called No Pone Valley Road. It acquired that name during the Civil War when sherman's troops came through. They took EVERYTHING resembling food, and all the cattle, hogs, chickens, horses and mules. They pillaged any valuables that they could steal and carry away, which wasn't much. It was, after all, East TN. There wasn't any corn left to grind into cornmeal, so no one had any meal to make corn pone, hence the name No Pone Valley. Funny thing about Tennessee, it's divided into the Three Grand Divisions, East, Middle, and West. East TN was pro Union until the Union showed up. At that point the hornet's nest was kicked hard, and the results are history for those who care to read it. East TN became virulently Confederate in short order. :roll2:
I'm still waiting for the filthy slimeballs in power to start taking down the Confederate memorials at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. There have been several attempts already to remove the monument at Stone Mountain, GA because it is 'politically incorrect'. Kind of the same motivation the Taliban had when they destroyed all those Buddhist monuments in Afghanistan; same kind of mindset. Destroy that which does not reinforce their narrow minded system of beliefs. The Progressive Left is the American Taliban, IMO, and worthy of the label.

I do not believe that we should re-write history, unless doing so is an effort to establish or clarify truth. It is what it is.
Soldiers who fight for what they believe in should be honored by those who benefited from their service, who shared their beliefs, or simply respect their willingness to sacrifice their lives for a cause they deemed worthy.
Whether or not I agree with the cause for which Confederate Soldiers died is irrelevant, in my opinion. They are Americans. I respect them. Let them fly whatever flag they want.
