French Apple Pie

I got an urge to make a French Apple Pie. I used to have them when I was little and that was a long time ago! I checked all of my cookbooks and none of them have the receipe. I Googled it and the ones that come up have a crumble or cream cheese topping. The one I remember just had some type of white sugarie topping. The insides seemed to be different for a regular apple pie. Can anybody provide a receipe for me? Thanks.
I may be old but I ain't dead!

IIRC , French apple pies sold around here have apples , raisins , a crumb-type top and an icing of some sort.

And a little white flag on top.

The difference seems to be the lack of a top crust. This one has four 5 star reviews and includes a shot of whiskey, which could easily be left out.

True French apple pie is delicious. Some people try to oversweeten it but too-sweet pie is always a mistake, masks the good natural flavors. I've had the authentic French apple pie and really liked it better than the standard type, but it has to be done right.

Go to www.bettycrocker.com-Impossibly Easy French Apple Pie.
I haven't tried it , but it sounds good.

I once had an apple pie and the apples were made out of Ritz crackers. That's some good eats there, boys......

Don't leave it out!!! I add a shot of Bourbon, brandy, or cognac to all my apple pies. You can't taste it outright, but it seems to give the pie a bit more depth of flavor.

My mom made that for my Uncle Gordy as a joke. He ran many of the orchards for Seneca apple. First thing he said was, "these are not my apples." Mock apple pie did not go over well that night.
