Sheriff Joe Arpaio campaigning with Rick Perry in NH

I'm a bit surprised to see this--Arpaio has always been nothing if not politically savvy, and I think it's pretty clear that Perry has missed his chance to be a serious contender. I'm also not sure about how smart it is for the Perry campaign to have the sheriff within them in NH--I feel like his hard line stance on immigration and running the corrections system would reasonate more in a place like Iowa than a New England state with a lot of independents. That's just me guessing, though.
Thoughts?

The country should run all prisons the way he does it in Arizona.
