Discovered a new form of varmint hunting!
Last year we started getting some huge (banana?) spiders spinning webs around the ranch house and walking into their webs face first would make almost anyone shriek like a little girl. I'd pull them down with a rake and stomp them on the ground but considering how tough they are and how soft our soil is, it took a little work to kill them. This year we had ten times as many as last year and I was looking for an easier and more entertaining way to control them. I wanted something with just enough juice to kill them with put causing any collateral damage. I tried my airsoft gun but they just bounced off and .22 shotshells are too expensive to waste on bugs and my one pellet gun is a little too powerful and would make holes in the soffits. Enter the Daisy Red Ryder. I ran up to Wally World and picked one up with a can of BBs and picked off every spider that I could find in about 30 minutes. Picking them off at 5 to 10 feet was kind of sporting and fun.
