Missouri Opening Weekend
We killed a couple great bucks opening weekend of rifle season in Missouri this year. What a phenomenal weekend with hitting the rut perfect, I saw 22 bucks in two days of hunting. We had several pictures of the buck my Son killed with the extra beam, he actually passed this buck Saturday Morning, Saturday evening and Sunday morning.....he never noticed the extra beam, but took pictures of it on Sunday morning. After zooming in on the pics he noticed the extra beam, we decided he should kill this buck if he got the chance again. Like clock work it came out Sunday afternoon around 4:30, after a mis-hap with the gun firing when he took the safety off (different thread on the main board), he made a nice recovery and killed the buck at 150 yards with a Remington VTR in .308 - 150 grain SST's. We also finally killed a drop tine buck on this property, we had pictures the last two years of some really nice bucks with drop tines, but this one was not one of them, it was totally different deer we didn't even know was there, a really nice 12 point with a 19 1/2" spread, the busted G4 sucks, but still a terrific buck, it was killed at 130 yards with a 50 year old plus Winchester Model 70 in .243. I would say we have a good gene pool running in this herd!

Well worth getting the rifle fixed up for more of that.
You would be locked in the outhouse at our deer shack for the duration of our deer season if you let either of these bucks walk, might have gotten a day in there just for taking a picture of the 10 point BEFORE you shot him, nicely done:applause:
HA HA, we are pretty particular on this parcel on what we shoot, we try to let the smaller / younger deer pass and if we see one that needs to be culled someone will usually take one for the team to get it out of the herd. We have had this philosophy for the past 5 seasons and it is starting to pay off with some really nice deer in the herd. Thanks guys!
Nope, the neighbors don't, makes it a little difficult but we have enough acreage where it is starting to help. The good thing is where we hunt the bucks must have at least 4 points on one side to be a legal deer. thank you!

Congratulations.
