  The Crusaders didn't have sophisticated enough weapons to make a lasting difference. This time we need to do a much better job.

  If the ROE was 'see bad guy, bomb bad guy no matter who is in the blast zone' then the drones and aircraft with smart bombs, dumb bombs, and missiles would be more effective. Obama has made this some kind of stupid law enforcement thing from day one, as in 'bring them to justice'. Justice is bits and pieces of the terrorists being scattered over several acres. Collateral damage wasn't a real concern during WWII and that war was won fairly quickly.
