More 'draining the swamp'...

Stories all over the internet that The Donald is not going to look for continued prosecution of Hillary. Now, I'll admit the story doesn't come from infowars, but CNN (among other sources) is almost as credible

What say ye of this latest flop from the king of flipping?

I'm guessing that many of our membership will see the wisdom and kindness of this gesture. I mean, she's been through enough, right?

Bottom line - if Hilary is not turned over to a grand jury, it will be because Trump agreed to that with the new AG he appointed. I just hope he doesn't think that will buy him any grace from Democrats, when they find something to come after him about.

I'm less concerned with placating his opponents than I am curious to see how his supporters view this. "Hillary in prison" was one of his main platforms...

She's a crook and a traitor. It is up to the DOJ to persue, and I truly hope they do.

That being the case, are you pissed that (apparently) the intent will be to just stay with the status quo?

I know a president doesn't prosecute and really shouldn't have any influence as such, so I'm just curious as to what you feel should happen?

Hilary's deteriorating health just might make prosecuting her a moot point- - - -no parole from the graveyard! If the "foundation" doesn't dry up and blow away from lack of contributors now, it might be wise to slaughter Bill and Chelsea's cash cow with a series of investigations and prosecutions.

I think he's making a gesture to promote national unity. Don't overlook that fact that Hillary won the popular vote by well over a million votes, and that those on the left have been going after him hammer and tongs. If he goes after Clinton like he said, that will be the only thing the press reports and make it difficult for him to implement his ideas and plans.

This was discussed quite a bit on O'Reilly and Megyn last night. From what I heard, it's not clear if the congressional investigation is off the table, nor if further investigation of the Clinton Foundation is still ongoing. Even Reince Preibus said that it could be reopened if something big was found.

I really don't think it's over at this point.

This is my thought. I'm hoping that Trump will appoint people who will pursue investigations thoroughly regardless of the political implications for EITHER party.

If Sessions gets approved for AG, it might get interesting.

It's up to the U.S. Attorney General to pursue evidence and prosecute, not the POTUS. So Trump saying he won't pursue prosecution of Hillary is just clearly defining that it isn't his job to do so. Trump won't pursue it, but the NEW AG has a free reign on that kind of thing and can go where the evidence leads.

And like Paul said, if Jeff Sessions is approved as AG, it has the capacity to get real interesting fast via the 'pay for play' through the Clinton Foundation donations, and the investigation of the Clinton Foundation as a money laundering activity. Those two things alone could get her serious time if convicted, and include Bill, Chelsea, and Chelsea's husband. She ain't out of the briar patch yet by any means.
