I still see posts from The Onion and Duffleblog catch plenty of people, along with other fake web sites. Nobody Googles the item in question to see whether or not it's true, and just take it as fact. Kinda like those FEMA concentration/reeducation camps, and the UN Forces on U.S. soil ready to round up us nutty gun owners to fill the camps. And all that other crazy stuff that turns up. The internet is kind of like the National Enquirer on steroids at times! :roll2: :tooth:

Forget the students, I know grown men that cite The National Enquirer.

When I was a teenager it was question authority. Now it is question everything. If it sounds to good to be true or to bad to be true it probably isn't. The huge problem is finding a reliable source of verification. We are often left with making our best guess.

It is a TABLOID. But given what mainstream journalism has stooped to...........

    tab•loid (ˈtæb lɔɪd)

    n.
    1. a newspaper about half the size of an ordinary newspaper, usu. heavily illustrated, and often concentrating on sensational or lurid news.
    2. a condensation or summary.
    adj.
    3. compressed; condensed.
    4. luridly or vulgarly sensational

Whilst awaiting on Mrs. Shush at airport arrivals, last week.

I was standing in the newsagents browsing through Irish Hare Magazine - Spring 2015.

    Riveting.

And forsooth, The National Enquirer 'Merican edition, was right next to the " The five most common reasons for airliner disasters" section.

    I was not tempted.

I still remember all the folks saying Obama would halt the election via Martial Law and take on a third term. Some people are really over reaching in hopes of their theories or they're just complete dip sticks.

Alot people believe the network news too.
No comprehension that news was replaced with infotainment when the Reagon administration stoppen enforcing the fairness doctrine.
My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

The "Fairness Doctrine" had nothing to do with news worthy stories or facts. We had Walter Cronkite making stuff up for years before that went away. What ditching it did do was enable people to speak out against the "news" outlets.
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.
