Who has seen the remake of the Magnificent Seven?

I got the DVD for one of my Christmas gifts.............better than I thought it would be, think I prefer the original better, but maybe that's because of the all-star cast and the charisma and the cool factor those old actors had.

I watched it yesterday sorta between football games. That is, after I got the DVD cables hooked back up correctly. I had disconnected it them for some reason from my older JVC player. So the Red/Green/Blue should have been a simple color matching affair................nope..........the older DVD and newer TV have the RGB connectors on them both, the way I finally got them to work makes no sense. After either getting no signal, no sound, no color, green or red or blueish tint...............finally got it right. Man I was this close to gettin the TV instruction book out :conehead: :conehead: That TV has more receptacles than you can shake a stick out for different hookups.............

I know I'm late on this and it has been brought up when the movie came out and I said I'd wait until it came out on DVD or Netflix, I did and wonder what others thought of it.

I like Denzel and the rest of the cast, but it's hard to beat the King of Cool, Steve McQueen! Not to mention Yul Brenner, James Coburn, and who can forget Horst Bucholtz!!??:jester:
Haven't seen the movie yet, but from the trailers I've seen, there's no "bandito's" or peasants!! But that's our PC hollywierd world!

    And Eli Wallach was great!

    I'll watch it!

Yep and Eli Wallach (The Ugly) made a good Bandito in the original fer sure. Those actors are the ones I grew up watching long before Netflix and DVDs.

Now, the new movie has a real butthole for a BG in his own right, a good guy Indian, Oriental, black man...............so yes the times have changed.

Chuck Bronson, Robert Vaughn and Brad Dexter were pretty good too. I did actually forget Buckholtz. He kinda sucked.

Mu other DVD/VCR in one deck developed a loud hum probably from the Pwr Supply as soon as the power is turned on and I was gonna fart with it, probably toss it for a new DVD player. I have a bunch of old VCR tapes, I never watch them anyway................went the way of cassette tapes. I will keep my LPs, though.
