One Year of OC in TEXAS

Today marks one full year of open carry by LTC license holders in the republic.

Body count from gunfights, mass murder by license holders, or other such actions of general mayhem.

0 (zero) - zip - Nada.

Same as when CC became law in '85 (?).

How could all the doom & gloom predictions be so wrong?

To be honest, it has been as most predictions were, a non event.

That is all, carry on.

Happy New Year!

Congratulations. We've had OC in Virginia for many years, and I don't recall any events resulting directly from it.

Wyoming has had open carry for the past few years and I don't think there has been any difference than before. There is very few people who actually open carry, most people I know that carry will be concealed, and I'm one who would not open carry, I see no reason to open carry.

Yanno if you look in the wild them cheetahs in Africa, right. They go after gazelles and all that, right? They leave them porcupines alone, right? That's because armed "prey" is no longer prey. It's no longer a victim.

For the most part yes...but occasionally you find a cheetah that just REALLY wants to find out what a porcupine tastes like.

    (Yeah, I know it's a leopard. It's in Africa. It's got spots. It's a predator. Close enough.)

Funny how liberals are particularly poor at predicting the future...

They are still trying to master predicting the past. :tooth:

Not two weeks ago, my kids and I watched a documentary about a leopard killing a porcupine in Africa.

Same here, I have seen very few oc. On july 1 you will be able to cc on college campi and some are having a cow. There is a big push to repeal it but I am hoping it stays in place. I am guessing that after it takes effect it will not even be noticed.

First time some scumbag shoots the place up and some body carrying stops the blood by shooting him, it will be noticed. That will be a big deal in Texas.
