This is an ODD racked buck

knitepoetknitepoet Senior MemberPosts: 21,658 Senior Member
I've seen him a couple of times and missed him once with my Crossbow a few years ago, I've finally got a couple of good pics of him

Only other pic I've ever gotten was walking away and all I could really tell was he was WIDE,
In this one you can see a quartering view of him

If you look and the extreme left edge of this one, you can see what's so odd about his rack main beam comes out and then forks multiple times at the end

I'm HOPING to get him out of the gene pool

He looks like a real cautious fella. Good luck.

Paul, Could this be a mule deer whitetail cross? I know that this happens, occasionally, in the Dakotas.........robin

If it's "genes" you're worried about.........I'd KEEP that buck in there! He has a crab claw and what looks to be a split G2. That's the best buck I've ever seen you post about on your property. Ain't a thing wrong with his "genes".

He looks like a mature deer to me, I am sure his genes have been passed plenty of times already......If I had the opportunity I would take him, that is a hell of a nice buck.

I'm sorry I missed the Brother :yikes:
Not that I am aware of. The nearest mule deer are 5-600 miles away minimum (I think)

I've got a nine point on the wall that was shot in central Alabama with a palmated antler, it's not that uncommon.

    If it's brown, it's down.

If it's brown and in a bucket, it's up.

    Then down.

    Then I'll wear it home.

    Happy now?
