How long has it been

I was 6 y.o. when my Granddad gave me the .22LR/.410 over under Gamegetter, so that was 58 years ago. I had a Daisy BB gun when I was 5, but I don't count that.

I carried an unloaded Remington 512 .22 bolt action on lots of rabbit hunts before I was ever allowed to use a shotgun. If Dad was able to find a rabbit sitting he would let me load up and take a shot. I started doing that about age 8 or so.

Technically, 35 yrs since I got my first gun (rifle). But for all intents and purposes, that old single shot .22 was mine from age 7 when I first learned to shoot, so more like 46 yrs.

Bought my first NEW gun about 53 yrs ago at Vandenburg AFB, CA. A Winchester model 250 and it's still in my safe. Not a "safe queen" by any means. Had what seems like a million since.
