Camping.

Took my boy shooting up by Ft Collins with friends and family. Drove up the canyon to the Michigan State Forest by Gould, camped the night. Went through Walden, resupplied in Steamboat Springs. Down, and across Dunckley Pass where we stoped to wash up in a cold mountain stream. Over to Buford, up to where I go elk hunting. Had to clear the road some of winter dead fall. Camped till we were covered with lumps and heard the buzzin' in our sleep. My Ruger 45 convertible Blackhawk kept us company the whole way. Was able to shoot at will right at camp. Practiced our axe throwing. Had a great time and came back dirtier than two pigs in a poke.:tooth::tooth::tooth::cool:

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.

Camping is a 3 star resort just off the Vegas Strip, and roughing it is settling for the house wine at dinner.

I don't like to camp, either. Got my share of it in the Army, mosquitoes, gnats, bugs crawling all over me. I will do it if I have to but not because I want to.
Concealed carry is for protection, open carry is for attention.

My boy ran that 22 conversion kit on my 1991A1 till he got tired. Only one stoppage in 5 days with Fiocchi ammo.

If I lived where there weren't one billion people trying to occupy the same two inches of space, I may rethink camping myself. Until I retire, peace is where I find it.

    *2.

Eagle Scout, Marine.....by the time I was 30 I'd probably spent 8 years of nights in the woods. There's gotta be a pretty good reason for me to sleep somewhere that I'm not paying the mortgage on.

Nothing better than spending time in the woods with your kid. During the summer I used to take the kids fishing at Meadow Creek Lake S of Buford, hunted deer and elk in the Flat tops from Triangle Park N to the drop off and E to Clinetop Mesa.

I took some time one day to ask the guy that owned that Buford store some questions about himself. He shared quite a bit of that area's past with me, my Dad and my Uncle. He was almost 90 at that time, and passed on a short time later. It was an honor to hear about his life.
