Robotic Vacuums?
Anyone have one? Like it? Hate it?
I'm thinking about buying one to cut down on the manual vacuuming we have to do on our tile and hardwood floors. At the moment, considering the Roomba 650 or the ECOVACS DEEBOT N79. People knock the Roomba for slamming into things too hard - which wouldn't be too good in this house.
All of them are either just loved, or absolutely hated as a .
Any experiences?

I'd rather have my sister work in a whorehouse than own another Taurus!

We just bought one two days ago (I-robot) because of the cats. The new house has dark floors and any tiny particle of litter the cats lose from their paws shows up like a beacon. My wife turns it on with her phone right before she leaves work and it has the floors (95%) clean when she gets home.
The more room you leave for it to work, the better it does. Don't leave things on floors, and put chairs on table if you want the floor under table clean. It is thin enough to get under the couches (where dust bunnies breed) but you have to make sure there isn't shoes, books, or cords under there...
Recoil is how you know primer ignition is complete.
No-one's expecting it to replace a "real" vacuum, but real world experiences are welcome. My wife is anal about cleanliness as well, but if it reduces the sweeping from 2-3x a week to 1x, it would be worth it. How long have you had your 650?

Electrolux, how old are you! That's the vacuum of little old ladies and our house growing up in the 60's and 70's! You never see them advertised anywhere! I sure they're still being made and probably a good quality vacuum! BTW I am kidding!
We've been wondering the same thing in regards to the robot vacuum if the new house ever gets finished!:bang:

Its been panned because its said to slam into things pretty hard. Comments?

My wife got vacuum cleaner bags in her Christmas stocking one year. It was during her first marriage, so I'm not on the hook for that one.
Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.
Ah............the way to a woman's heart.................:jester:

Sounds like I shouldn't buy my wife a stand mixer for Christmas like I've been thinking. Although she does look at them in the stores occasionally.
