Lest we forget......everything they say is a lie. The democrat strategy for winning is to lie about everything to fool the public and get votes.

Hence the term "low info voters".

It's worse than low info, they don't even care because the democrats are offering the most freebies.

End game on 'universal background checks' is to eventually have a national firearms database of gun owners and every firearm they possess. It's not like the ATF hasn't been caught compiling data from out of business gun dealers, and keeping NCIS info in a database. Both are illegal, but the ATF is good at doing that illegal stuff. They get caught, get slapped on the wrist, and then let the dust settle, and do it all over again. Get the universal background check in place, then get the next 'reasonable gun control measure' of a registry of transferred guns from all sources, then the next 'reasonable gun control measure' of mandatory registration of all firearms one owns and their name and address in a government database. All are 'reasonable gun control measures' to the left, and over time incremental creep will have us right where they want us. Ripe for the next phase of confiscation.

There was an idiot on TV last night (I’m thinking from Chicago or such) that says the FBI/BATF needs to expand and all gun owners would have to have a national Firearms Owner Identification Card and that would greatly decrease those who should not be buying a gun being able to. Yep, when we have law abiding criminals ... moron spouting oxymorons.

There was a guy on Tucker Carlson who wanted to know who bought more than x number of guns in y number of months. The figures he threw out were 20 guns over a 6 month period. If someone met that criteria, then he wanted local law enforcement to pay them a visit and find out why that person had recently purchased so many firearms.

He also wanted to ban mentally unstable people from firearm ownership. He didn't go into detail about he the authorities would know if someone was mentally unstable.

As I see it, the whole problem with gun registration, or national firearm ID cards, or something similar is that it's very difficult to infringe on one right without infringing on a whole bunch of others.

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.

Yeah, if they could just pass another law only affecting the law abiding, then the problem will be cured.

When we made it law that only doctors/psychiatrists can write prescriptions for or dispense opioids that stopped the illicit use cold. And making marijuana and cocaine and heroin illegal sure stopped their unauthorized use cold. And making methamphetamines illegal sure stopped abuse of them cold, too. And people still drink and drive.
