My Model 12 Winchester, made in 1940.

I bought it about 3 weeks ago from a friend who said it belonged to his grandfather. Anyway, I took it out to the deer lease the other day to shoot it. What I always do is put some rounds in the magazine tube and pump them in the chamber. I put two rounds in the magazine but when I tried to pump them into the chamber the magazine wouldn't release them. I took it to Dwight, my Gun Smith and he said, just from looking at it, it looked like someone had disassembled it and didn't know how to get it back together. Anyway, we shall see. He's got it at his shop and working on it.
Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

It will be well worth the wait.
My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

I think you have broken many forum rules here with this post. Functioning or not one cannot say my new "gun" and not post pictures of it. We live for pictures here! Can't wait to see it!
Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

I'm betting it has a .270 barrel on it.

Nice score, I look forward to seeing it, I was lukewarm on pump shotguns until I discovered the old Winchesters, there is nothing in their class made today, bar maybe the Ithacas.
    Mine's a 1924ish 20 gauge with a 24" barrel, I'm proud to be its present caretaker.

    Sounds like me.
I am putting together guns I know nothing about but do test all functions with dummy rounds before I put them away.
