    It would appear that California is truly a lost cause. If they can't even convict someone for involuntary manslaughter on the evidence that he pulled the trigger, then they are a majority of idiots out there. All y'all sane people in CA need to move out ASAP before the infection spreads to you.

    I have a sneaking suspicion that if this had happened in one of ~ 45 other states, he'd have been found guilty, and in some, sent to death row. :cuss:

    I wonder how many of the jurors have ever fired a gun, or know anything about firing one?

    I also have to wonder how hard the prosecution tried to convict this guy? Or how much the presiding judge tied the hands of the prosecutors?

    This seems like a CF on so many fronts I don't even know where to begin.

    I heard the judge’s instructions to the jury told them to not consider intent. Which basically told them that they could not decide between murder or manslaughter. Not sure how true that is, but if it is- then the judge wanted this guy to get away with it

    OK, they could not admit evidence of his criminal record to determine guilt, yet they convicted him for being a felon and possessing a gun. How does that work? And they can present evidence of his numerous felony convictions in the punishment phase of the trial. So, they can sentence him for being a habitual criminal to anything up to life imprisonment, unless California is way different from other states.

    I also heard that the prosecutor got greedy going for murder 1. She could not prove that he INTENDED to kill her. Based on that, ... well.

    I hate to get too far from the original subject, but this plays right into it. I think this very thing is why the Clinton's have been able to evade the law so well all these years. They're like the Mafia, the hillbilly mafia. They have something on everybody just like Lyndon B. Johnson did back in the 50s and 60s. Only thing that took ol' Lydon down was Vietnam. Didn't put him away like he needed to be, but took the wind out of his sails where he finally collapsed and had to get out of Politics. I think this last election may have been the straw that broke the Clinton's back like Vietnam did Lyndon.

    Since law enforcement isn't cooperating with Border Patrol and INS in California, then maybe the Federal gooberment should get down to the business of withholding Federal Funds to California as to LE grants and other areas where legal. The Feds didn't fail to withhold road money from states that didn't tow the line on the drinking age when the Feds insisted on 21 y.o. as the legal age for drinking. Cut off all money to California until they cooperate with the illegal alien mess with the BP and INS.
